Happy Easter

Still here at the pirate haus hostel and having the usual great time. Roomates from Scotland and New Castle England have been a hit for fun. For the first time it is an older crowd traveling. Have been out now for three nights in a row taking it easy tonight actually we all need the rest. We and some guy from New York City all went out to a Brewery pub last night. The band was great believe it or not the actual lead guitar player for the Hermits was playing we were than told we thought that was good go to Stogies pub and hear the lead guy from Kansas. Perfect evening arriving back quite happy around 1:30. The area the hostel is in is a great one actually across from the Hilton Hotel. However down the street is a rather dodgy pub called the Trade Winds that hosts a different crowd mostly red necks. of course we always start in there as it is always entertaining before moving on. I was in my room when blue lights were blazing through the window (second floor mind you) everyone still in the kitchen we all went down stairs to see the action. The scotland lad with cup of tea in hand included. We watched a crime scene like on TV. Soon a fire truck came along the paramedics, witness gathered quite a night out. Body removed back up the stairs again to the kitchen when another drama unfolds. Some guy was in the New York guys bed. The NY guy not too happy about this got a little rattled as this was the second time happening. Now they both arrive in the kitchen for loud exchanges. Our priate owner comes on the scene quites all down. What a night.

The pirate owner well he does def. have some problems with the personality. He was dressed last night in three different outfits. All of spanish origin I did get one picture of him in one of them. Entertaining. My roiomates (9) of them have all had a good laugh.

Today I had to go to CVS pharmacy which is about a mile walk from here on a rather major road . People were gathered about everywhere the roads all blocked off awaiting for the Easter Parade. What a parade it was. Never expecting this I stopped to see about an hour of it. Def. alot of rednecks dressed in civil war suits, pirates, floats, the best was the garbage truck. The usual large truck dressed up like a big fly. It had antennas on top of the roof, big eyes over the head lamps, legs hanging down on the sides and wings attached as well. They were taking on the loads left from the horses droppings ahead of the parade. GREAT.......

This am thought it would be a good idea to go to Mass. Thinking 11 am one would be fine expecially going to the Cathedral would be nice. I got there about 10:30 only to find the 9 am mass still going on. Chairs all set up in the gardens fully packed and the line to get into the front of the Cathedral had already started. After getting into the line of people finally at 10:45 we all started to enter. It was almost like going to a sale in a large dept. store as everyone was almost running to get a seat. Well worth it however Bishop presiding music from everywhere and the biggest statue of the Lord all in gold with a crown was so impressive behind of the alter. In all the places I have been into europe never have I seen anything like this. Two hours however a bit long.

Now we are all awaiting our food order of Chinese to arrive for the evening meal. No one wants to cook tonight. The place is fillilng up fast as well. New people new friends. Tomorrow I meet up again with the love of my life than back to Daytona Beach on Wednesday hopefully to see my cousin (be ready guys I'm coming down) and some more friends in Ft. Lauderdale. Meeting up with some roomies from Scotland and England in Austin Texas in about 2 1/2 weeks. The spirit just marches on.

Remember today is the present that is why we call it a gift.
